In brief

Northstar Security came out of stealth on Oct. 28, 2026 with $7 million in seed funding led by Wing Venture Capital for a Security Context Graph that links data from more than 70 security and IT tools so AI agents can investigate and help fix risks.

Northstar Security, a cybersecurity startup building AI agents for security teams, emerged from stealth on Oct. 28 with $7 million in seed funding, the company announced. Wing Venture Capital led the round, with MVP Ventures and Outliers Venture Capital also taking part, SiliconANGLE reported. Security industry veterans Gerhard Eschelbeck, Renaud Deraison and Justin Somaini invested as individuals.

Northstar said the money will go toward product development, hiring and sales and marketing. The platform is available to customers now.

Security teams have plenty of alerts but little context, CEO says

Northstar’s pitch is that decades of spending on tools that find security problems have left the follow-up work mostly manual. CEO Amer Deeba said security teams are “drowning in data but starving for context.” A known vulnerability, an unmanaged device or an account with too much access can each look manageable alone. Together, they can leave a critical system exposed.

Northstar calls these “toxic combinations.” The data needed to spot them usually sits in separate tools that don’t share it, SiliconANGLE reported.

A graph of the company’s tools feeds agents that can act

Northstar pulls data from a company’s existing security and IT tools into what it calls a Security Context Graph, a live map of how assets, identities, vulnerabilities, applications and business systems connect. It says it connects to more than 70 products, including Okta, GitHub, Workday, Microsoft Defender and Entra, AWS and Google Cloud, according to SecurityWeek.

SiliconANGLE gave the company’s own example: a laptop with no endpoint protection. Working out whether it matters can mean checking six different tools. On Northstar, an analyst can ask in plain language. The answer might show the laptop belongs to a privileged user who can reach the payroll system.

Northstar’s agents can then start a fix, such as installing endpoint protection, notifying the user or restricting access. People can supervise those steps where appropriate. FinTech Global described the platform as three parts: connected context, risk ranking by likely business impact, and agent-driven remediation across teams and systems.

Customers can plug in their own agents, including Claude

Northstar also opens its graph to outside AI agents through Model Context Protocol, so customers can build their own security workflows on Anthropic’s Claude and other AI tools. Randy Barr, chief information security officer at Cequence Security, said his team uses Northstar’s agent workflows to fix issues continuously, and that security teams don’t need another dashboard producing more findings.

Founders come from Qualys, Normalyze and Adobe

Deeba started Northstar with Ed Rowe, the chief technology officer, whom he first worked with at Adobe in the late 1990s. Deeba held senior roles at Qualys, then co-founded Normalyze, a data security startup that Proofpoint acquired in 2024. Rowe was chief technology officer at Farmers Business Network and senior vice president of engineering at AppDynamics, SiliconANGLE reported.
